So in a bombshell that has rocked the simulation community, just hours after the end of FSExpo and hours into E3, Microsoft released the trailer to their reboot of Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Having abandoned the genre in a less than stirling exit following corporate and community mismanagement (and some help from our own community to shoot ourselves in the foot) 7 years ago, the original pioneers of the flight simulation genre are returning.

In this episode of the Three Grumpy Simmers we distil down to the facts and try to minimize the speculation. We also reflect long and hard on where we are now and where we may head. We also reflect on some members of the community who seem determined to trash something on literally no evidence and counsel against being hasty in judgement (deja vu anyone?).

Who are the Three Grumpy Simmers?

Tristan "Novawing24" Ayton is a highly opinionated YouTube content creator with a focus on the Simulation genre. Believeing that giving back to the community is important, he provides open and honest commentary and feedback on developments in the simulation genre. He has also tried his hand at texture design, with content available at his website and at the AVSIM Library, as well as writing for numerous websites. When not simming he can be found training or competing in Obstacle Course Racing events around the world.
